This is the view that greets me every day from my workroom window. When the sun sets the light shines form behind the trees and beckons me to dream of other places. It is also the place I work and create and do the hard miles.
My creative practice largely incorporates textiles and for years I have been playing with incorporating this view into a textile wall hanging- to catch its mystery, its depth and its enchantment. The piece that follows is my “summer” version of my view.

Waterfall of light
rushes from the wide angled arc of sweet blueness,
embraces the tiny shoot,
almost burst open.
Desire thrusts upwards,
desperate to kiss
the life that is gifted,
just because.
An embroidery and poem inspired by the story of the Magic Garden
